Reuse bags
To reuse snack bags, you have to reuse the same bag every day and not throw them away. It's good for the environment because you don't make trash.

Library Books
I read library books. You can go to the library and check out books and take them home. Then you return them when you're done reading them. We go mostly every week to the library. It's good to go the library because we're sharing books.

Rechargeable Batteries
Rechargeable batteries are better than throw-away batteries because then you aren't making battery trash. To recharge rechargeable batteries, you need a chargeable battery charger. We got cars for Christmas that take batteries and light up and have remote controls. In the cars, we have rechargeable batteries. In my Leapster and in the Wii controllers there are rechargeable batteries.

Carpooling
To carpool, you have to have 2 or more people with you.
When you carpool, the people that you're carpooling with need to go to the same place. Carpooling is a good thing because then there are less cars driving and less gases in the air. Everyday, when I go home from school, I carpool and every day when I go to school I car pool. When we carpool in the morning, that makes 3 more cars not driving.

Wearing used clothes
I wear used clothes because I don't want to make clothes trash. When we go to yard sales, we buy clothes. And when we go to Goodwill, we also sometimes buy clothes. And mommy buys me used clothes online.

Recycle cans
I take our soup cans out to the garage and put them in the recycling bin. Then we take them to the recycling yard where they crunch them up. At the recycling center they weigh the cans on a scale and then I get money. Today, I got $1!

Reusable Napkins
We have cloth napkins because they're reusable and they don't make more trash. Mom made these napkins because they're reuable and we don't have to throw them away. When we use paper napkins, we have to throw them away and that makes more trash than cloth napkins do.

Riding Bikes
Today I rode my bike to the library. This was green because it didn't put gases in the air & didn't use gasoline. It also saved money and I got some exercises. If you want to ride your bike, you have to wear a helmet.
This is Trent's Page
I am 6 and I am in kindergarten. My diary is going to be about all the green stuff I'm going to do.
A note from Trent's mom: At our house, we make the effort where we can to be more environmentally conscious. I want Trent to better understand how we can make "greener" decisons and why it's important. These blogs are in his words - I help him formulate his thoughts, then dictate it onto his blog. I try to sensor as little as possible. Hopefully, each post will be about a different "green" action he took. Feel free to follow along and be green with us!
p.s. he picks the pictures/images he wants to post on his blog too.
